Where does IndochinaLight deliver pendant lights to?
We ship worldwide. Your products are handcrafted in Phu Vinh craft village, Vietnam, and dispatched from our warehouses in China, the UK, or the US, whichever gets your order to you fastest.
How long does it take to process and ship my order?
Delivery time = Processing time + Shipping time:
Processing: 3–5 business days for standard orders, up to 7 days for large orders, since every piece is handcrafted to order.
Shipping:
US, Canada, Australia: 20–25 days
UK, EU: 20 days
Rest of world: 30 days
Express (FedEx/DHL, additional fee): 7–10 days, all regions
Total estimated delivery: roughly 23–35 days for standard shipping. Over 99% of orders arrive within this window; if yours is delayed, contact us, and we'll resolve it with the carrier within 2 business days.
What does shipping cost?
Orders over $500: free shipping worldwide.
Orders $0–$500: shipping cost capped at $24.95.
How can I track my order?

🔄 Returns, Exchanges, Warranty & Damage Claims
What is your return policy?
Because every piece is handcrafted to order, we accept returns and refunds only for items that arrive faulty or damaged. If your pendant light arrives with a manufacturing defect or transit damage, we'll replace it or refund you in full; see the claim steps below. We can't accept returns for reasons such as a change of mind or incorrect sizing chosen at checkout, so we encourage you to use our Buying Guide or contact us before ordering if you're unsure about size, style, or fit.
What should I do if I receive a damaged or incorrect pendant light?
We pack every order with care and ship it insured. If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, we'll replace it or issue a refund. Claims must be started within 30 days of delivery:
1. Email service@indochinalight.com to report the issue.
2. Attach photos within 30 days:
The outside of the box (barcode visible)
The inside of the box (packing materials included)
The damaged or incorrect item itself
Once approved, we process refunds within 7 business days.
Can I exchange my pendant light for a different design or size?
Exchanges follow the same terms as returns above and are available for items that arrive faulty, damaged, or incorrect. If you'd simply like a different design or size before your order ships, contact us within 24 hours of placing your order (see Ordering & Payment).
What's the return/warranty policy for sale or discounted items?
The same damage-claim and warranty policy applies to discounted items as to regular-priced products.
Do your pendant lights come with a warranty?
Yes, every IndochinaLight pendant light, chandelier, and fixture comes with a 2-year warranty covering manufacturing defects.

Will I receive the exact same pendant light shown in the product photos?
Because every piece is handwoven from natural rattan or bamboo by artisans in Vietnam, no two pieces are perfectly identical; slight variations in grain, weave, and tone are part of the material's character, not a defect. We recommend viewing multiple product photos to get a feel for the natural range.
Are IndochinaLight products handmade or mass-produced?
Every piece is 100% handmade. IndochinaLight partners with artisans in Phu Vinh craft village, Vietnam, a region with generations of bamboo and rattan weaving heritage, founded by Lewis Nguyen, who grew up in that same village. Each fixture blends traditional Vietnamese weaving techniques with modern, functional design.
How do you ensure the quality of each pendant light before shipping?
Every piece passes a 3-step quality control process:
1. Surface cleaning: remove dust and use appropriate detergents to prepare the surface.
2. Quality check: inspection of joints, rattan/bamboo durability, electrical components, and bulb function.
3. Overall assessment: final review of aesthetics and functionality against our standards.
Can I customize the design or size of a pendant light?
Yes, IndochinaLight offers customization services so you can adjust design or size to fit your space. Contact us with your requirements.
Do your pendant lights come with installation hardware?
Yes, typically including a cord, ceiling plate, and lamp holder.
What light bulbs are compatible with your pendant lights?
Base: E26/E27
Wattage: 4W–70W
Voltage: 90V–260V
We recommend LED bulbs; they use up to 80% less energy and run cooler, which helps protect natural materials like rattan and bamboo over time. Warm white (2700K–3000K) suits cozy dining spaces; bright white (3500K–4100K) suits kitchens and workspaces.

What size pendant light should I choose for my table or kitchen island?
A simple rule: subtract 30 cm (12 in) from your surface width to get the maximum pendant diameter. For example, a 90 cm (36 in) wide island calls for a pendant up to 60 cm (24 in) wide, leaving 15 cm (6 in) of breathing room on each side.
General size categories:
Small (15–30 cm / 7–12 in): breakfast nooks, powder rooms, reading corners
Medium (30–60 cm / 12–24 in): kitchen prep areas, side tables, hallways
Statement (60+ cm / 24+ in): dining rooms, foyers, open-plan living areas

How many pendant lights do I need, and how far apart should they be spaced?
Kitchen islands: about 1 pendant per 61–76 cm (24–30 in) of island length.
Dining tables (4–6 seats): 1 large pendant, or 3 smaller fixtures.
Larger tables: up to 5 pendants, or one statement piece 76+ cm (30+ in) wide.
Minimum spacing between fixtures: 45 cm (18 in); many designers prefer 60–75 cm (24–30 in) for an uncluttered look.
How high should I hang a pendant light above a table or island?
The sweet spot is 76–91 cm (30–36 in) above the surface:
8 ft (2.4 m) ceilings: aim for the lower end, ~76 cm (30 in)
9 ft+ (2.7 m+) ceilings: use the upper range, ~91 cm (36 in)
Open ceiling areas: keep at least 2.1 m (7 ft) clearance from the floor
Most of our pendants have adjustable cord or chain systems, so you can fine-tune the height during installation.
Do I need a professional electrician to install a pendant light?
Most fixtures anyone comfortable working with a ceiling junction box and following the included instructions can install. For hardwired installations, electrical connections, or when you're unsure about ceiling support and local building codes, we recommend using a licensed electrician to protect both your fixture and your home.

Are rattan and bamboo pendant lights suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, or outdoor spaces?
Rattan and bamboo pendant lights are designed primarily for indoor, dry environments; kitchens and dining rooms are ideal (bamboo even has natural antibacterial properties).
We don't recommend them for high-moisture areas like bathrooms or uncovered outdoor spaces, since prolonged moisture can warp or damage the natural fibers.
How do I clean and care for my rattan or bamboo pendant light?
Rattan: Dust regularly with a soft brush; blot spills immediately; don't rub. In dry climates, lightly moisten with a damp cloth monthly to prevent cracking. Keep out of direct sunlight to preserve natural color.
Bamboo: Dust with a dry microfiber cloth; spot-clean with mild soap and water. Avoid excessive moisture and direct heat, which can cause warping.

How long will a rattan or bamboo pendant light last?
With proper care, our rattan and bamboo fixtures typically maintain their structural integrity and appearance for 8–10+ years, developing an attractive natural patina over time.
