The Bathari is a handwoven rattan pendant light made to order by Vietnamese artisans. Its bulbous dome carries an intricate diamond lattice weave that filters the bulb into warm ambient light — and projects geometric shadows that move across walls through the day.
One-of-one weave. Natural rattan varies strand by strand — tonal shifts and small knots are the wabi-sabi signature, not defects.
Certified & practical. UL-Listed, pre-wired E26/E27, hardwired or plug-in, dimmable with a compatible bulb.
Shadow play built in. The open diamond lattice throws layered patterns upward and outward — the ceiling becomes part of the fixture.
Commanding but light. Generous proportions suit high ceilings, yet woven rattan weighs a fraction of glass or metal at the same diameter.
Warm by design. Pairs best with 2700–3000K bulbs; the natural beige tones deepen the glow instead of bouncing it.

Size rule: room length + width in feet ≈ pendant diameter in inches. A 12×10 ft room carries a 22–24″ dome; islands longer than 6 ft look better with 2–3 smaller pendants spaced 24–30″ apart.
Lampshade only ships as the woven shade alone — no socket, cord, canopy, or hardware. Use your own cord kit.
One fixture lights 8–12 m² comfortably. Pick the style by ceiling height and surface below.

Style B or C over a rectangular table gives the widest light spread; the diamond weave patterns the tabletop instead of glaring off it. For tables over 6 ft, two Style A pendants at the third-points beat one oversized dome.
Best styles: B 23.6″ · C 27.6″
Bulb: 1000+ lumens, 2700K, dimmable for dinners
Style C’s shallow dome keeps sightlines open in seating areas; Style D works when the ceiling is under 8 ft. A single large shade over a conversation grouping reads calmer than a chandelier.
Best styles: C 27.6″ · D 23.6″
Bulb: 800–1200 lumens, 2700K, dimmable
Style A as a pair beside the bed, or Style D centered over a dresser, keeps the weave in the peripheral glow instead of in your eyes when you sit up.
Best styles: A 9.8″ · D 19.7″
Bulb: 400–800 lumens, 2700K, dimmable
Every product goes through the same six-step process in our Vietnam workshop — from selecting the cane to testing the wiring. See the full process →
Step 1
Selecting Bamboo and Rattan Materials are carefully chosen based on age, flexibility, and shape. Ideal bamboo is 5–10 years old, with straight, smooth stems and minimal knots, sourced from Vietnamese mountain regions (avoiding the top and bottom growth areas where light exposure affects quality).
Step 2
Splitting and Making Bamboo/Rattan Strips Rattan's outer bark is stripped to reveal its workable core, which is split into uniform strands. Bamboo is similarly split into strips sized according to the final product's requirements, ensuring consistency.
Step 3
Anti-Corrosion and Anti-Mold Treatment Two key methods protect against decay and insects: smoking (improves termite resistance and flexibility) and boiling (removes impurities, kills bacteria, and enhances elasticity). Materials are then sun-dried to boost strength and durability.
Step 4
Making the Pendant Frame and Assembly This involves four steps — selecting a shape (round, drum, cluster, conical, etc.), precise measurement for stable joints, cutting and assembling components, and quality control testing to confirm the frame can bear the lamp's weight and external stress.
Step 5
Weaving of Bamboo/Rattan Pendant Shade Artisans use techniques like woven mesh, embroidery, and twisted weave to create intricate patterns. Weaving starts from key frame points, with continuous checks for uniformity, finishing with detailed borders and accents.
Step 6
Final Quality Assurance and Testing Final steps include controlled natural drying plus anti-termite/anti-mold treatment, surface coloring (natural golden hue, eco-friendly stains, or black lacquer for rattan pieces), professional electrical installation and testing, and a comprehensive final quality inspection before shipping.
Use a soft-bristle brush or a dry microfiber cloth for weekly dusting.
Work gently along the weave direction to avoid snagging individual bamboo strips.
A low-suction vacuum with a brush attachment effectively removes dust from the hollow core.
Avoid damp cloths during routine cleaning — moisture weakens natural bamboo fibers over time.
Turn off and allow the fixture to cool completely before any cleaning.
Lightly dampen a cloth with a diluted mild soap solution (a few drops of mild soap in water).
Wipe each bamboo band carefully, then immediately follow with a dry cloth to absorb any moisture.
Never submerge or soak any part of the fixture; prolonged wetness causes warping and mold.
Allow the shade to air-dry fully in a ventilated area before switching the light back on.
Check the cord and ceiling plate connection every 6 months for signs of fraying or loosening.
Inspect the E26/E27 socket for discoloration, which may indicate heat buildup from an oversized bulb.
Confirm the bamboo loops remain securely interlaced; gently press each band to test for looseness.
If any wiring shows damage, discontinue use immediately and consult a licensed electrician.
Keep the fixture away from high-humidity areas such as bathrooms or steamy kitchens.
Apply a thin coat of natural bamboo sealant or beeswax annually to preserve the straw tone.
Avoid direct sunlight exposure, which can bleach and dry out the bamboo fibers prematurely.
During storage or relocation, wrap the shade loosely in breathable fabric — never compress the looped form.
This versatile piece complements multiple interior aesthetics by filtering light organically through its woven rattan construction. It suits several design profiles:
Wabi Sabi
Coastal, Boho
Rustic
Room length + width in feet ≈ pendant diameter in inches. A 12×10 ft room carries a 22–24″ dome; islands longer than 6 ft look better with 2–3 smaller pendants spaced 24–30″ apart.
Center it 30–36″ above a dining or kitchen table. In an open aisle or living room, keep the lowest point around 7 ft from the floor so people can walk under it.
Use a 2700–3000K warm-white LED, 800–1200 lumens (about 12W). A clear or globe filament bulb keeps the diamond shadows crisp; frosted softens them. Pair with a compatible dimmer.
Hardwired, plug-in, and lampshade-only kits are available. The canopy fits a standard US junction box. For steep sloped ceilings, choose the plug-in swag option or email us for a sloped-canopy recommendation.
Yes. The standard cord is 1.5 m (about 59″) and is adjustable at install. A longer 3 m cord is available on request for double-height rooms.
Each piece is made to order in 3–5 business days, then ships with tracking. US standard delivery is typically 20–25 business days from dispatch. Free shipping with code FSHIP.
You have 30 days from delivery to return it, plus a 2-year limited warranty on manufacturing defects. Photograph any transit damage before discarding the carton and contact us — claims are answered within 24 hours.
Dust weekly with a soft brush or microfiber cloth, following the weave. Do not soak the cane. Metal canopy and cord can take a barely damp cloth. See Care above for the full routine.
Islands longer than 6 ft look better with 2–3 smaller pendants spaced 24–30″ apart than with one oversized dome. Over a long rectangular table, two Style A at the third-points often beat a single large shade.
